Two filmmakers portray life in the village and in the mission of Sangradouro, Mato Grosso: Adalbert Heide, an eccentric german missionary thatTwo filmmakers portray life in the village and in the mission of Sangradouro, Mato Grosso: Adalbert Heide, an eccentric German missionary, that soon after the contact with the Indians, in 1957, starts to film with his Super-8 camera; and Divino Tserewahu, a young Xavante filmmaker, that produces films for television and cinema festivals since the 90s. Shifting between complicity, competition, irony and affect, they give life to their historical records, revealing peculiar backstages of indigenous catechization in Brazil.

Biofilmography

Tiago Campos was born in Belo Horizonte, studied anthropology at University of Brasília (UnB), where he started working as a documentarist, a clown and a musician. In 2005, he joined Vídeo nas Aldeias in Olinda, where he took part in workshops that resulted in films such as Bicicletas de Nhanderú. Heco-directed the film Mulheres xavante sem nome com Divino Tserewahú and was assistant editor, colorist and art finisher for films such as Corumbiara, directed by Vincent Carelli. In 2013, he directed The máster and Divino (O mestre e o divino), which won three Candangos Awards in Brasilia, including best picture.
