Award ABD-RJ

ABD-RJ Independent Audiovisual brings together for more than 40 years, filmmakers, technicians and agents of Rio audiovisual chain. The association will award two films at the VII Directors’ Week – best feature and best short or medium length, chosen by a jury comprised by member of the association.


Daniela Broitman

She is a filmmaker and  journalist, with a master’s degree from California University – Berkeley. She was a reporter for newspapers Folha de S. Paulo and O Estado de S. Paulo, where she won the Esso Journalism Award for the Zap! Section. She directed films such as Voices From the Edge: the Favela Goes To the World Social Forum. In 2008, she presented Meu Brasil. A recipient of a fellowship of the Guggenheim Foundation in NY, the filmmaker directed, wrote and produced the documentary Marcelo Yuka no Caminho das Setas, shown in more than 25 festivals in Brazil and abroad and winner of many awards.

Manuela Castilho

She develops workshops of audiovisual in Rio de Janeiro focusing on its environment and real estate since 2008. She participated in the team of several shorts, such as Queimado, by Igor Barradas, and Resistir, by Caco Souza. She is currently in pre-production phase of her documentary LSN. Is a member of the U40 World Forum of the UNESCO Convention on protecting and promoting the diversity of cultural expressions and integrant of the club of movies Mate com Angu.

Renata Saraceni

She is a partner in the production company Cinema Mundo Produções. As its main activity are the five editions of the Itu International Film Festival. She took part on juries in festivals like It’s All True, among others. She studied film at FAAP, law at Universidade Paulista and began her career as an assistant director in films by Paulo Cezar Saraceni. She held several workshops, among which can be highlighted the introductory course to Film Critic and a tribute to writer Julio Cortazar, both at the Oficina Cultural Grande Otelo in Sorocaba.
