Reassemblage is a time mosaic built by everyday image and sound captured in Senegalese small cities. By showing the inhabitants of these places, the filmmaker puts in question the need that occidental ethnology has to explain the “other” through explicit or reduced attribution.

Trinh T. Minh-ha

Trinh T. Minh-ha is a filmmaker, writer, composer and professor at the Gender & Women’s Studies of University of California, Berkeley. She has also taught at Harvard, Smith, Cornell, San Francisco State University, the University of Illinois, Ochanomizu University in Japan, and the National Conservatory of Music in Senegal.She is the author of eight books and seven feature films, and videos and multimedia installations.
